Lincoln Little League Umpires Needed
Lincoln Little League provides softball opportunities for kids ages 6-14 within the Lincoln HS cluster. After weathering a few seasons during the pandemic, Lincoln Little League returns for a full 2022 season. Unfortunately, the last two years have created a shortage of trained volunteers or paid umpires to work Lincoln Little League games and we need community members to fill this critical role.
Lincoln Little League is needing umpires for our Minor League (AAA) games. Lincoln games are played at Hamilton Park (next to Bridlemile Elementary) and games are scheduled on weeknights at 6 PM and Saturdays either 1 PM or 4 PM. Lincoln Little League must provide an umpire for each home game. With two AAA teams for 2022, we anticipate approximately 20 home games between April 11th and June 18th.
Who can umpire: Adults, parents, and students 15 years and older can umpire.
What we offer:
Lincoln Little League will supply required protective equipment for umpires to use (shin guards, chest guards, face mask)
Umpires can be paid $55 for each game worked.
Students can choose to earn volunteer hours for school (student must verify with their school)
Training Provided: Lincoln has teamed up with District 4 Little League umpire consultant to provide umpire training for new Lincoln LL umpires. Training will be scheduled once the group is formed. Training is anticipated to take between 3-4 hours and will provide information so umpires can be confident and comfortable behind the plate. Lincoln LL is committed to supporting Lincoln umpires and making this effort a success. TRAINING NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO APRIL 11TH.
Lincoln LL needs you! If you are interested in becoming a Lincoln LL umpire, please contact Colby Rauch [email protected] ASAP to be added to the training group or if you have any questions.
